Industrial energy audits for factories in Maharashtra
For a manufacturing unit, electricity is a production cost. Demand charges, power factor, time-of-day consumption and the efficiency of motors, compressors and pumps decide how much of each bill is avoidable.
A WattAudit industrial audit combines bill analysis with on-site measurement of the main loads, and produces a measure list with investment, annual saving, simple payback, NPV and IRR — so the plant head and the finance team can decide together.
Where the money goes
Contract demand and demand charges
Contract demand set far above recorded maximum demand, or demand peaks that could be shifted.
Power factor
Capacitor banks out of service or APFC panels not tuned, attracting penalties or losing incentives.
Compressed air
Leaks, high generation pressure and unloaded running of compressors.
Motors and pumps
Old or rewound motors, oversized pumps, throttled flow instead of speed control.
What the audit covers
- 01
HT/LT bill analysis
Energy, demand, ToD, power factor and other charge lines reviewed month by month.
- 02
Load survey
Motors, compressors, pumps, process heating, lighting and HVAC inventoried with ratings and operating hours.
- 03
Measures with financials
VFDs, IE3/IE4 motors, pump replacement, compressor pressure reduction and leak repair, APFC, ToD shifting and contract demand optimisation.
- 04
Documentation
Report structured along the BEE detailed energy audit format, using ISO 50002 terminology.
Rooftop solar opportunity
Industrial sheds and roofs can host rooftop solar, and larger consumers may be eligible for group captive or open access solar. The audit shows the rooftop opportunity from roof area and sanctioned load, and flags whether off-site models are worth exploring.
- Rooftop solar on CAPEX or OPEX / RESCO
- Group captive and open access solar PPA for eligible consumers
- Finance and EMI options
- 5 years free AMC on installations
Indicative estimate based on your bills; final design after site survey. Subsidy subject to scheme eligibility.

Frequently asked questions
How long does an industrial audit take on site?
It depends on the size of the plant and the number of systems. We agree the scope and visit plan before starting so production is not disturbed.
Do you take measurements or only look at bills?
Both. Bills set the baseline; on-site readings of key loads (power, power factor, pressure, flow where applicable) make the savings estimates specific to your plant.
Can the audit help with a billing dispute?
Yes. WattAudit detects issues such as wrong tariff category, unjustified PF or demand penalties and over-contracted demand, and documents claims with your DISCOM with a full evidence trail.
Is open access solar suitable for us?
Open access and group captive models apply to larger consumers that meet the regulatory criteria. The audit flags whether your load profile makes them worth a detailed study.
